Action figures, and toys in general, make me happy. They bring me joy. I was the perfect age when Star Wars, GI Joe, The Transformers, and Masters of the Universe all hit way back in the glory days of the 1980s, and my love for them has never gone away.

I am an avid collector with a fairly expansive collection, but I feel as though I place too much emphasis on what I *don’t* have rather than what I do. All too often, as soon as I acquire a figure or toy I’ve been wanting, It gets placed on a shelf and my sights too quickly turn to that thing I want “next.” There’s always a next.

Part of what I’m trying to do with this is to turn the emphasis of my collecting to the collection itself, and other elements of my life that impact, and are impacted by, my collection. There’s a story behind every piece of my collection, and I’ll be compiling many of those stories here.

"I had a dream I was a vigilante's sidekick. My name is Tim, I'm a lesser known character."
